Overview
Considering the vast importance of multiphase flows in energy systems, biomedicine, defense systems, manufacturing, and the environment, and the growing importance of CFD in multiphase flows, the executive co-organizers are hosting a dedicated conference on the topic of numerical methods in multiphase flows, to bring together the international community in a focused technical exchange environment.
Scope
ICNMMF will comprise invited, podium and poster presentations. The conference will consist of:
• Technical and poster presentations on numerical methods with emphasis on new research ideas, methods, and directions
• Invited perspective presentations from government funding agencies
• Poster presentations focused on multi-phase CFD applications
We seek to keep the conference focused on advanced methods.
There will be a mix of single-track sessions and a few parallel sessions on more specialized aspects.
The organizers are particularly supportive of and
encourage attendance and abstract submission by
individuals in groups underrepresented in science
and engineering (e.g., underrepresented minorities,
women, and persons with disabilities).
There will be no published manuscripts – all presentations that authors wish to include in a conference DVD will be made available to participants electronically immediately after the conference.
General co-chairmen:
Robert Kunz Penn State University
Andrea Prosperetti Johns Hopkins University
The conference will be located at Penn State University. Convenient and comfortable lodging is available very close (short walk) to the conference venue. We will host a banquet on day 2 at the Mount Nittany Club at Beaver Stadium. State College is quite easy to get to by air or car, and is perfectly lovely in the summer.
